Hello!!
Today I want to show you how
I make my cards. For this DIY I am going to use a card kit, but being the
thrifty gal that I am, I am going to show you how to make the most from a card
kit.
And before anyone says
anything, no it is not too early to be making Christmas cards!!
Here is the card kit, it’s
from the DoCrafts Papermania Letter to Santa range. You can get it here.
This particular card kit
comes with a printed card to use as your base but I don’t like to use them
because I like my cards to be thick and substantial not flimsy. I cut down and
matted the card onto a thicker cream scalloped card blank.
I also cut down the insert
and matted it onto patterned paper for my insert.
Next you need to decide
which layers of the decoupage you want to use. Most card making kits come with
lots of layers, I don’t think they are all necessary so I just chose a few. You
then want to put plenty of double sided foam pads on the backs.
Carefully stick them onto
the front of your card and add any other embellishments that you think might
look nice. I added dots of gold glitter glue on the scallops of my card.
As you can see there is a
lot left over, this is enough to make at least another one card and maybe a few
gift tags.
All of the other products
that I used such as glue and foam pads are available online or in many stores
such as The Range.
Hope you enjoyed this post!
See you soon!
