December Favourites and Goodbye 2015 || Blogmas Day 30 & 31

Hello everyone!!

Today is the last day of 2015 and the last day of Blogmas!! I’m kinda sad because I have really enjoyed coming up with Christmassy ideas and things to blog about. But it also means that I will be posting super exciting things next year!!

I wanted to share some of favourites from December. I didn’t take photos like I usually do so I’ll do a list.

  • Christmas!!!
  • Spending time with family
  • Wrapping presents
  • Watching Christmassy TV
  • Using Christmas scented candles
  • All the amazing food and drinks

I can’t remember what I had actually planned to write about today. I just basically wanted to say goodbye to 2015. My mum and step dad are coming over this evening to have a New Years sleepover and cook a nice meal tomorrow, I’m super excited about it!!! I hope you all had a good year and I here’s to an amazing and epic 2016!!!

See you in 2016!!!

Hello everyone!!

I wanted to share my 2016 diary with you! I normally have a boring black simple diary that isn’t very fun, I needed more GLITTER!!!!

Sprinkle of Glitter is one of my favourite bloggers/vloggers! Her real name is Louise and she is amazing!! She’s such an inspirational woman and I really look up to her! Here’s her blog and YouTube channel if you want to check her out (which I highly recommend you do!!!)

On the right hand page you have your week-to-view diary, which has loads of space for planning all kinds of fun and adventure!! And on the left hand pages there are all kinds of beautiful things!! From interactive pages where you draw or write, recipes, crafty ideas, or just beautiful photos, every page brings a little bit of Glitter to you!!!!

There is also a page for your New Year’s Resolutions! I only have two so far which are to complain less and to become the best me I can be (get fit, eat well, take care of myself, so on). I need to think of three more which I’m sure I will soon enough!

I'd love to see what your Resolutions are or if you have a Glitter Diary, let me know in the comments!!

Christmas Day and Boxing Day || Blogmas Day 25, 26, and 27

Hello everyone!!!

I know I haven’t blogged in a while and during Blogmas I was supposed to be blogging every day in December but I didn’t anticipate how much time I would be spending with family and how little time I would have to blog.

Christmas Day was lovely!! I woke up and took care of the usual morning jobs, feeding the animals, having breakfast, washing the pots, so on. When my sister woke up we sat in the living room with all of the Christmas lights on and shared out the presents. We took our time opening them, it was a really nice experience!!

After we had opened everything we ate lots of chocolates and tidy away the wrapping paper. I then prepared and started to cook the Christmas dinner!! We sat around waiting for my mum and stepdad to come.

When my mum and stepdad arrived we had a few more presents and a nice drink of tea. And of course we ate more chocolates!! They didn’t stay for long as they still hadn’t opened all their presents.

Our Christmas dinner was ready so I laid the table and poured some drinks. We ate til we were almost stuffed and it was amazing!!!

We had an afternoon nap, watched some tv, and ate more food!!!

Here's a few photos of some of my presents!

The day was wonderful and although it was lonely as some people and pets were celebrating from up above, I felt so loved!!!

Boxing Day was a quiet affair. We ate leftovers, watched tv and films, and relaxed.
Overall Christmas was really special and I’m already planning for 2016!!!!!

See you soon!!

Christmas Eve || Blogmas Day 24

Hello everyone!!

Today is Christmas Eve!! I was super excited when I went to bed last night thinking about it being Christmas Eve today! But when I woke up I was a bit disappointed because it doesn’t really feel like Christmas. All of the Christmas presents are under the tree, although to be honest there aren’t really that many. Not that it matters at all because I’ll have the most important people will be here and that is all that matters!!

This morning I’ve eaten a whole bar of chocolate to myself and done not much of anything else!! When I’ve uploaded this blog and done some email stuff I’m going to the rest of the housework that I haven’t already done. I’ll then have a nice shower because I won’t have enough time later tonight.

I’ll be walking to my nearest Tesco tonight before they close to see if I can get any reduced bargains and maybe one or two last minute gifts! When I get home and me and my sister have both eaten we’ll open our Christmas Eve box!

We’ll probably stay up late tonight as my sister is crocheting a blanket as a gift and she still hasn’t finished it!! I might not blog tomorrow or Boxing Day as I want some family time but I’ll blog soon after!!!

See you soon!

Last minute preparation and Mince Pies || Blogmas Day 22 & 23

Hello Everyone!!!

It’s Christmas Eve Eve!!!! I can’t believe how quickly Christmas has come! Although I don’t think that it feels that Christmassy, everyone I’ve asked agrees. I think it’s because it’s quite mild and we haven’t had anything close to snow yet.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I did my last minute preparation that involved going out including doing my main shopping before Christmas Day. I bought fresh vegetables and all the other food that I thought we might need. I also got a few last minute Christmas presents and saw a few relatives and friends.

Today I’m doing the last minute prep at home. I’ve still got some shopping from yesterday to put away and then I’ll be doing housework. I’ve already got washing on the line and another load in washing. When the house is clean ad tidy I’ll wrap the last presents that I’ve got and double check that I’ve done everything I need to do.

Today is also the perfect day to make mince pies. Here’s my recipe:

You will need:

  • 180g (6oz) plain flour
  • 120g (4oz) cold butter, diced
  • 25g (1oz) caster sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • A jar of mincemeat
  • 2 cutters I use a fluted circle and a star for mine
  • A greased 12 cup tart tin

How to make:

Preheat oven to 180C (fan ovens) or equivalent

Tip the flour, salt and butter into a bowl and using hands mix into fine crumbs. Add the sugar and mix in. Add the water gradually until the mixture is just starting to come together. Turn onto a floured board and knead lightly into a ball.

Roll out with a floured rolling pin to a thickness of just less than ½ centimetre.
Cut out the same amount of each the bottoms and tops for the pies. Firm the circles into the tart tins, very gently.

Put a teaspoon of mincemeat into each and add the lids. Brush each pie with water and sprinkle with a little caster sugar.
Bake for about 12 minutes or until pale golden. Remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.

I had also made some mince pies for my sister to take to work to give to her friends!

This evening I will most likely snuggle up on the sofa and watch some Christmas TV whilst eating the mince pies!!!

See you soon!
