September Favourites

Hello everyone!!

Today I’m going to share this month’s favourites with you!

My first favourite is that it is autumn!! This is my favourite time of the year. I love everything related to autumn/fall, the cosy oranges and browns, the crisp leaves, darker evenings so you can snuggle with blankets and candles!!! And it will soon be Christmas!!!! I forgot to take some autumn photos for this post but I will make sure I take some soon!!

As mentioned above, I am loving candles right now!!
These are the candle jars I made for my last Crafty Friday post. You can see it here…http://bethanyjaneblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/candle-jars-crafty-friday.html They are really easy to make and look super pretty when you light the candles!

These are some candles that I bought, the ones at either side are Glade Christmas candles from last Christmas but they sell them every year. The middle candle is handmade soy wax candle from a little local shop that unfortunately closed down. *sad face*

Autumn also means that it is getting colder!!! I love baths with a good cup of tea in the cold weather. I have a jar that came from Boots a few years ago that I refill with bath bombs from pretty much anywhere. I also have some smaller jars that currently have bath salts in.

When I have a bath I like to have a nice warming cup of tea! Sometimes I take it in the bath with me and sometimes I wait until I come out. My favourite tea is Yorkshire Tea and I absolutely adore the Gruffalo caddy I have!!! I got mine from Sainsbury’s.

My final favourite is notebooks! It’s a bit of an odd favourite but because I work with children I have a lot of notes to take and obviously you need a pretty notebook. All three of these notebooks come from The Range.

That’s it for this month’s favourites!! I wasn’t to planned this month so I didn’t have many faves, I am certain I will have more next month!!

See you soon!

A trip to the zoo

Hello everyone!!

It is my sisters birthday on Wednesday but as I will be working *sad face* we decided to go out yesterday. Our mum and stepdad took us to the zoo!!! My sister loves animals and she loves zoos, so this was obviously a good choice.

I thought I would just share some photos from yesterday, here they are….

Candle Jars | Crafty Friday

Hello everyone!
Today’s tutorial is a good one!! It’s very adaptable and can be made as easy or difficult as you would like. It is also a craft that can be made very quickly; I made mine in less than half an hour!

First you need to gather all the components you will need.

  •  A selection of jars large enough to hold candles or tea lights
  • A selection of ribbons and lace
  • Embellishments, this is very open to interpretation, whatever you have on hand can easily work
  • Double sided tape or glue, I used tape to make it quicker!
  • Scissors

I chose these three jars which will all hold tea lights, the larger jar will also hold a slightly larger candle.

Next choose the ribbon or lace that you want to use on the jars. I decided to make the two smaller jars the same. I cut a wide piece of ribbon for each jar to go around the outside and lace to go around the top and make bows.

For the larger jar I used a thin strip of double sided tape along the ribbon to attach a lace edge to it. I attached this around the jar with tape and then put matching lace around the top of the jar.

I was really pleased with how they turned out. I hadn’t planned on making Christmassy jars but I found the metal snowflakes and they were so pretty I just had to use them!!

These jars will be featured in a blog post next week (complete with candles) so come back and see!!!

See you soon!

So many projects, so little time

Hello everyone!
I have so many fun things that I want to share with you guys but I am really struggling to find time!!
I work 5 mornings a week, and have just started additional training. I also have pets to look after and general house things that I have to do. I have also been trying to make some money from my crafting, which obviously takes time. This is making it difficult to find the time to take photos, edit, and blog.

However, I am determined!! I really want to make this blog a success so as long as there are people that are reading this, then I will continue blogging!!

See you soon!
