Leap Day

Hello everyone!!

Today is Leap Day! It basically means that this year we have an extra day!! As today is Monday I had to work until 2 which doesn’t really give me much of an extra day *sad face* But yesterday I spent a lot of time doing things that I wanted to do. I did some reading, some sewing, made a bone broth, printed some things for my organisation folder, and did lots of other things!

Recently I haven’t been spending as much time doing things that I want to do, I think it is because I have so much I want to do, but also quite a lot of time to do things, which basically means I skip from one thing to the next without actually getting anything done. I’ve been doing lots of planning and using my Sprinkle of Glitter diary which is helping me to stay a lot more organised.

I think that is about it for today. My tea of the week this week is Earl Grey tea. I haven’t got a photo of this because I have several different brands and haven’t taken the time to get any photos. Oops.

See you soon!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Hello everyone!

Today I was going to share some Mother’s Day crafts but I didn’t have the time to prepare and make the stuff for the post. However, I decided that I would share some gift ideas instead!!

All of the products I will be suggesting are from Superdrug, please note that I have in no way been asked or paid to promote Superdrug, I just think it is a really great shop that has some really great things.
Maybelline It Look Box Uptown Girl - £15
I really like this set as it contains more than more product and will be perfect for your mum to have a little makeover! I also think it is a really good price for what you are getting.
I Love Perfect Getaway Essential Pack - £15
This is a really cute little set of miniatures in a vanity case. They are strawberries and cream scented which sounds amazing!!

Zoella Wonder Hand Moisturising Hand Cream - £5.50
This is a really pretty little gift which is also very useful. Hand creams are often overlooked when buying beauty and skincare gifts, and this hand cream smells amazing!!

Cheryl Stormflower 30ml Eau De Parfum Gift Set - £20
It can be hard buying perfumes as gifts unless you know the recipient really well. But I think that this set is really pretty and would be a lovely gift for your mum!

Lindor Milk Cornet 200g - £3.50
Because everyone loves chocolates!!

I hope this post has given you some inspiration for mother’s day gifts!

See you soon!

Birthday Recap!!!

Hello everyone!

As you might already know it was my birthday last Thursday! So I thought you would like a little recap of the day and a few photos!!

Photos first!!!!

The day started with opening my birthday cards. I didn’t get very many as most people nowadays just use Facebook to wish each other a happy birthday. My mum arrived quite soon after breakfast, we sat around and talked for a bit then me, mum and my sister went into town.

First we wandered around going in all the shops and buying some bits and bobs. Then we went for lunch. I had a prawn baked potato and salad, a millionaires slice for afters, and a pot of tea!! It was really nice having a meal with my mum and sister! After town we popped to Tesco to get a few bits for tea (PIZZA) then went home to drink more tea!!

I then opened some presents, there’s a few photos above! We had pizza for tea and waited for my other sister to come before having my cake. As you can see from the photos it was AMAZING!!!! My mum made it and it was a surprise for me because I had no idea that she was making it for me! I then did a little bit of karaoke with my sister!! It was sooo fun I love singing!!!

Then before we knew it it was time for bed, my mum slept over which was super fun because it meant she was here on Friday! On Friday we went and did some more shopping!!

So that’s about it for my birthday recap. I hope you enjoyed reading about my birthday, let me know what you get up to on your birthdays!!

See you soon!

Planning my garden

Hello everyone!

This week I am focusing on planning my garden. I’ve tried for the last couple of years to grow some fruit and veg to save money and be healthier. I haven’t had that much success to be honest. This year I am going to put more effort into growing stuff!!

I am starting by making a plan, organising when things need to be planted, and writing a list of what I need to buy. I’ve already got a fairly long list of things I need to buy. And it is not going to be cheap!! That’s the thing with growing veg, it saves you money in the long run but you need to pay out for pots, soil, seeds, and other important things first.

Hopefully I’ll be doing some posts in the near future about gardening. And hopefully I’ll be able to show you what I have been growing!

Let me know if you’re interested in gardening and I’ll do more posts about it!

Tea of the Week

This weeks’ tea is Twining’s Caramelised Apple Green Tea. It is a green tea flavoured with caramelised apple, it has a lovely warm sweet flavour to it. It is one of my favourite flavoured green teas!!

Reorganise your wardrobe

Hello everyone!

This time of year is perfect for reorganising your wardrobe. Like me you might have got some new clothing for Christmas or bought new items in the sales, but it is likely that you haven’t got around to getting rid of any unloved items. Here is my guide for reorganising your wardrobe!!!

Step One: Empty your entire wardrobe. Yes, all of it. I find it easier to lay everything out on the bed. Sort everything into piles of categories, such as shirts, dresses, jeans, t-shirts, so on.

Step Two: Choose one pile and try everything on. You might not think that you need to try every item on but believe me there will be things that you saved because they are nice but they don’t actually look that great on. You may also find things that need adjusting or new buttons sewing on.

Step Three: Put items to keep back in your wardrobe, items to get rid of in a bag or box, and items to adjust in another bag or box. Make sure the items go back in your wardrobe neatly and organised. I like to keep my clothing in categories like you will have sorted them into in Step One.

Step Four: Once all piles have been sorted out ensure your wardrobe is tidy. Then choose what you are going to do with the clothes you do not want any more. You may be able to give some to a friend or to a charity shop. The clothing to adjust or fix need to be put somewhere safe until you have time to deal with them. Schedule the time in your diary so you won’t forget about them.

It’s as simple as that!! I’ve organised my wardrobe and made a list of new clothes I need such as some new bras and shirts.
I hope you enjoy reorganising your wardrobe, let me know how it goes!

See you soon!

Try Something New

Hello everyone!!

This week I am not working so I get to spend to spend the entire week doing whatever I want to do!! Very exciting!

I want to do something this week that I have never done before. I haven’t yet decided what but I think that it is the perfect time to try something new. January is over and we are half way through February, I do tend to feel in a bit of rut this time of year.

Here’s a few ideas of new things to try:
  • A new food or restaurant
  • A different hairstyle
  • New makeup
  • A different style of clothing
  • Listening to a style of music you don’t usually listen to

Try something new this week and see what you think. Comment below with what you have tried and what you thought of it!!

Tea of the Week

This week I am going to use up the teas that I only have a few of each left of, because I will be home most of the week I will drinking a LOT of tea!!!

See you soon!

Valentine’s Day Crafts

Hello everyone!!

Sorry that I haven’t blogged when I said I was going to but this week has been super busy. I’ve had lots of very important things to do at work that took priority over my blog but now I am hopefully back to my usual blogging for a while at least!

As I was so busy this week I didn’t have very much to prepare for this post but I really wanted to share these two crafts. The first craft is some gorgeous Valentine’s crackers. I made them using a die-cutting machine, the tutorial is the same as the Christmas crackers I made for Blogmas – click here to check it out!

I used pink papers and really cute bunny toppers that I love! They are perfect for Valentine’s Day. I also added some cute little gems and ribbons.

I was going to get heart shaped chocolates to put inside them but I found these really cute Easter chocolates that are caramel filled!! They worked out much cheaper and are really tasty!!!! I put them inside the crackers with some heart shaped confetti and red shredded tissue paper.

The second thing I made for Valentine’s Day which I am going to leave up for a while because I think it’s super pretty!! I bought an Easter tree last year and just took off the Easter egg decorations and added some paper hearts, I also added some red paper and a bow at the bottom. I then found a pink wooden heart and wrote ‘love’ on it in glitter glue.
I’ve put them in my living room on my little fire place, they look super pretty!!

Pancake Recipe

Hello everyone!!

As you all probably already know next Tuesday is Pancake Day! It basically means everyone in the country eats pancakes!!! Yum!! I wanted to share a simple pancake recipe with you so you can make pancakes too!!

Ingredients:
  • 110g plain flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 200ml milk mixed with 75ml water
  • 50g melted butter ( this can be melted in the microwave ) and a little extra for cooking
  • Plus your toppings, I used chocolate spread and raspberries!!

How to make:
  1. Sift the flour and salt in a large bowl
  2. Break eggs into the flour and whisk
  3. Gradually add the milk and water and whisk until the mixture is smooth
  4. Add the butter and mix again
  5. Heat some butter in a frying pan and pour in some of the mixture, wait until the underside is cooked and flip
  6. When it’s all cooked add the toppings and enjoy!!!

I used wheat-free flour and found that there is a fine line between under cooked, just right, and over cooked, so watch carefully when you are cooking them. I’ve practiced to make sure they are just right when I make them for the family on pancake day!!

My first ones were a little under cooked but were still delicious!! And the second ones were a tiny bit overcooked but I was too busy eating the first ones to notice when they were cooking!

I hope you enjoy your pancakes, let me know in the comments what toppings you enjoy!!

See you soon!

January Favourites

Hello everyone!!!

I don’t have many faves this month and to be quite honest the ones that I’ve got are pretty random!

First up is American Horror Story: Hotel. I think I’ve talked about it before in another post but I’ve caught up and watched the end of the series. I’ve never watched any other AHS series but I think I would like to when I find the time. A lot of people have complained about this series saying that it focuses too much on gory death and lots of sex, if that’s not your kinda thing do not watch AHS. I found that once I got into it I really enjoyed the story line even though it didn’t always seem central to the show. But it was a great show.

My second fave is label stickers. I bought these from the Range and I have no idea how much they cost, but I love them. I haven’t yet decided what I want to use them for but they are just so pretty and I love organising and labelling things so I thought they would be useful.

I have been loving listening to music this month. Nothing in particular as I have a very broad taste in music, but just putting my iPod on and putting in on shuffle. I sometimes find that I am so busy and wrapped in whatever I’m doing I forget to listen to music so it has been really nice finding time to listen to it.

My two last favourites are sort of linked together. I have been meditating a lot recently to help my anxiety and I’ve been using a Sleep Balm at the same time. The theory is that I will link the scent of the Balm with being relaxed so when I smell it I will feel relaxed again. The Sleep Balm is from Avon but they have stopped selling the exact one I use *sad face* but they have a different one which you can get here. I haven’t tried it so I don’t know if it smells as good or works as well.

I’ve been using guided meditations on YouTube. My favourite channel so far is TheHonestGuys, I find the guys voice very soothing and am in the process of trying all of the guided meditation available. I try to meditate every day but I don’t always get the time.

That’s all for today, share your January Favourites in the comments!!

See you soon!

My Tea Collection and Tea of the Week

Hello everyone!!!

Today I wanted to share something with you all that I am very passionate about. Tea. I love tea!! I drink it every day and try my hardest not to buy it at every opportunity.
Some people (most people) would probably think that the amount of tea I own is too much. Some of it I bought myself, some of it was gifted to me. I took some photos to post and didn’t realise until then how much tea I actually own!!

I started using tea caddies to store my tea but as my collection grew I ran out and began using plastic storage containers and jars. I’ll post where I got them from at the bottom.

  • Plastic boxes – these are available in most supermarkets or online
  • Plastic jars -  these were empty hot chocolate jars that I washed out and removed the labels
  • Yorkshire Gold and Yorkshire Tree caddies – limited edition caddies from Yorkshire Tea that are available in supermarkets each time a new one is released
  • Orange tin and black tin – both Twinings caddies that were bought from supermarkets
  • Cookie monster tins – I got these for Christmas, the coffee one actually has tea in it and I have a sugar one that I keep random kitchen things in
  • Clear jars, tea caddy, and tea tins – not 100% sure where these came from as I’ve has them so long
  • Tea box – I use this to store my tea envelopes, I got it last Christmas from my mum and it is my favourite tea storage!!

Today is also the introduction to my Tea of the Week!! Each Monday at the end of my usual post I will include a tea that I have chosen to drink every day that week. This is firstly so I am able to give you some mini tea reviews, but also so I will drink more variety of tea.

This weeks tea is the English Breakfast Tea by we are tea. It’s an everyday tea you drink with milk but it also nice without milk. I usually drink Yorkshire Tea but this tastes totally different and makes a really nice change.
