Vanilla cookies || Blogmas Day 16

Hello everyone!!!

Today I want to share one of my all-time favourite biscuit recipes!!!! I originally got the recipe from a magazine (no idea which one) and I have been using it ever since. I always make these cookies at Christmas but they are great all year round!!

You’ll need:

  • 285g Plain flour
  • 1tsp Baking Powder
  • 100g Sugar
  • 85g Butter
  • 1 small egg, beaten
  • 2tbsp Golden Syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Mix all of the dry ingredients with the butter and rub together until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix into a dough. Place the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Roll the dough out on to a floured surface and cut shapes using a cookie cutter. Place the cookies onto a greased baking tray or on baking paper and bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly coloured and firm but not crisp.

I totally forgot to take photos of cookies before baked them and when took them out of the oven so there's not many photos, sorry!!

I like to freeze these cookies in a box as they taste amazing straight from the freezer! They can also be iced or dipped in melted chocolate!!

See you soon!
